🎓 P.S. 219 – Kennedy King School Uniform Policy

It’s a new year and we’re still rocking our uniforms! This is a friendly reminder that we proudly show our school spirit by wearing our uniforms all year long.

REMINDER: Hoodies and head coverings are not permitted at school unless worn for religious reasons. All other head coverings must be removed.

Please find the information below regarding what to wear to ensure an amazing school year.

P.S 219 has a required school uniform for several very important reasons:

Uniforms unite our community.
Uniforms reduce distractions and clothing competition.
Uniforms help uphold a scholarly atmosphere.

All students must come to school wearing a P.S. 219 – Kennedy King uniform with pride. Basic uniform items without a school logo may be purchased from stores such as Ideal Uniform, Cookies, Young World, Old Navy, and others.

Uniform Requirements (3K – 5th Grade)

Tops: Royal Purple and/or white solid polo shirt with or without the school logo is required every school day.

Bottoms: Navy or black slacks, joggers, skirts, or dresses. Families may purchase bottoms from any store.

Shoes: Safe shoes that cover most of the foot and are suitable for stairs and daily movement. Sneakers are preferred and may be any color. Crocs, foam shoes, and UGG-style slip-on shoes (slippers) are not permitted.

Belts: Solid colors are preferred if needed.

Tights: Any color or pattern (lace is not preferred).

Socks: Any color or pattern.

Gym Uniform: Grey or navy jogger suit. Options are available with the school logo on the uniform website or may be purchased from any store.

Additional Information

If a student has an accident or soils their clothing, a clean uniform will be provided. Students in 3K, Pre-K, and Kindergarten must keep a change of clothes at school at all times.
