Social Studies Passport

To support teachers and students, the Social Studies Department has produced a curriculum called Passport to Social Studies. The goal of social studies is to make sure that all students graduate from high school prepared for college, a career, and a future as a productive adult.Students use rich content, themes and big ideas to learn history, geography, economics, civics, citizenship and government. They also use important skills to “think like historians.”

Thinking Maps are a set of visual learning tools designed to enhance critical thinking and comprehension skills. These graphic organizers provide a structured framework to organize thoughts and ideas, making complex information more accessible. Each type of Thinking Map corresponds to a specific cognitive process, such as comparing and contrasting, sequencing, or classifying information.

Originally created to address the need for a rigorous and coherent math program in the United States, Eureka Math has gained widespread adoption in schools across the country.
